Happy Hips

Give yourself the gift of Happy Hips as we move into the Summer. Sitting and standing for the greater part of the day generally create tension and tightness in our hips. In this workshop, we'll discover the full range of motion and alignment of the hips through lots of stretching, lunges and backbends, which release the spine and create more freedom and lightness in our upper body, gait and posture.

Move, breathe, and experience your practice from a whole new perspective. An opening of the hips will lead to an opening of your heart! Music will support your hip opening adventure.

Yoga For Runners

CALLING ALL RUNNERS: Do you want to transform your running routine forever?

Whether you are a seasoned marathoner, a road race warrior, or brand new to jogging, a consistent yoga practice will teach you how to balance the common stresses that running puts on the body so you can run injury free for years to come!

This workshop will focus on poses most beneficial to improving and enhancing:

  • Body awareness and alignment
  • Core strength
  • Balance
  • Flexibility through deep stretching

In this workshop you'll:

  • Alleviate tension and tightness from rigorous athletic performance and training
  • Develop stamina and concentration as you hit the pavement
  • Indulge your inner athlete

You’ll leave with:

  • A new eye for how your body functions most efficiently and effectively and tools to add a simple yoga practice into your daily run.

**This workshop is open to all levels of runners and yogis alike.

Breathe out stress and breathe in serenity at NAMASDAY, our Fall Equinox yoga celebration. 

This event features classes for all skill levels and abilities and will be followed by a social with food, drinks and music. 

Join me for the following classes:

  • Yoga For Runners at 9:15am-10am (directly following the Run Club run)

  • Yoga For Cyclists at 10:15am-11am (directly following Cycle Club ride)

Registration is required, either in-club at Member Activities, online or by emailing Kristin Anderson, Yoga Studio Manager at kanderson3@lifetimefitness.com.

Event fee includes yoga classes and food/drink at social hour.

Yoga For Cyclists

This workshop is geared specifically towards cyclists to create ease and flow on all rides to come.

In this workshop you'll:

  • Restore exhausted and overworked muscles and joints and learn tools to balance your body on your bike.

  • Focus on body mechanics to alleviate typical stresses that riding puts on you.

  • Focus on spinal alignment, core strengthening, quads, hamstrings, IT bands, hips and knees, and look at upper back and shoulder tension to soothe and realign you in a whole new way.
